Description
Covilhete of Vila Real is a meat pastry, weighing approximately 50g to 60g, filled with a mince made mostly from stewed beef. The covilhete has a truncated cone shape made with puff pastry, which is topped with puff pastry with the characteristic helical curl of this product. The pastry is crispy and crunchy, and the filling is soft and grainy, where you can see the pieces of minced meat that may be bound by a slightly thick cream resulting from the mixture of fats and flour. The smell of the puff pastry contrasts slightly with the aromas of the filling.
